The "magic" ingredients of golden milk
Turmeric is one of the best supplements for inflammation
Turmeric is the main ingredient that gives colour to this golden drink. Not only does it have important anti-inflammatory properties, it also contains natural chemical compounds called curcuminoids. These compounds work by reducing the levels of inflammatory molecules in the body to relieve symptoms of pain, swelling and stiffness. Studies show that turmeric may be more effective than ibuprofen for arthritis and other chronic conditions. This is because the effects of turmeric not only help reduce inflammation, but may also hinder the transmission of pain signals to the brain through inhibitory activity against COX-2.
The use of this ingredient in India dates back more than four thousand years, where it came to have religious significance. In Hinduism, turmeric is one of the five ingredients of panchagavya (along with milk, yoghurt/curd, honey and ghee) which is used as an oblation. Turmeric has been used in Asian medicine for quite some time. Many studies have confirmed that it can reduce oxidation levels in the blood and could be used to prevent disease, as well as to slow the growth of cancer cells. Turmeric is difficult to digest on its own, which is why golden milk contains black pepper.
Research has shown that eating ginger may help boost the immune system.
Ginger is one of the world's oldest spices that has been used for centuries as a natural remedy. Ginger is a spice derived from the root of the ginger plant. It can help you fight off illnesses, whether they are related to a cold, flu or nausea, and is available in pill form or can be cooked into many delicious dishes.
Ginger is a powerful component in golden milk. Its use has been studied and it has been found to reduce inflammation and improve circulation when used in conjunction with exercise. The benefits of an immune booster are indisputable and beneficial for athletes. It can be administered before or after training or even matches, and is especially useful for resisting a cold when it hits.
Ginger has also been shown to have powerful antioxidant effects, which help protect your brain against free radical damage caused by external sources. Ginger is also known to relieve nausea, promote healthy digestion and reduce inflammation in the body.
